Tell us about yourself.
My name is Candice T. Watson, and I’m a newly published author and screenwriter. My pen names are Author Candylickherr and Unique Tailz. I was born to write extraordinary stories. However, I didn’t start writing until later in life. I loved books, and I always knew this was something I wanted to do, so I explored it more intently. I found myself on a different career path, and I became this late bloomer in writing. With no formal training or degree, I taught myself how to become a writer, and I never gave up on the dream I knew was always there. So in 2019, I signed with Major Key Publishing. So far, I have twelve books and two screenplays published, and many more to come.
If you could be a writer for a living, would you?
Absolutely. My passion is writing, and I would love to do it full-time.
Do you prefer ebooks, printed books, or audiobooks most of the time?
Printed books
At what time of the day do you do most of your writing?
Early mornings or late evenings.
What is your kryptonite as a writer?
I believe in not staying authentic to my writing style.
How much research did you need to do for your latest book?
A ton of it. It was a genre that I usually don't read. I had to watch a lot of documentaries.
What advice would you give to a writer working on their first book?
There will always be people who love your work and people who could do without it. So it's okay, keep writing.
How do you deal with poor reviews?
I learn and let go.
How many books have you written? Which one was your favorite?
I've written over sixteen novels. My favorite is Right Game Wrong Bitch. It's a suspense and thriller. It's where I discovered my gift.
Do you have a library membership? If yes, what library?
No, I don't.
What would you like to say to your readers?
First, I want them to check out my catalog. I have a variety of genres, and they may be surprised. I am a unique storyteller and make no apologies for the things I write. My characters are unapologetic, and there's always something to learn from my stories.
Right Game Wrong Bitch: Love is a Deadly Game can be purchased on Amazon and Walmart.
