Tell us about yourself.
Let's see, in a nutshell I'm that geeky-freaky friend that will do whatever I can to help. I'm a child of God, a Jedi Knight, a wine goddess and a member of Hufflepuff rolled into one lightning storm, hot blooded handful of a woman for some lucky guy. 😀
What's the trickiest thing about writing characters of the opposite gender?
I think the trickiest thing is making sure all the men are different. In order for the relationship to be different the couple has to interact differently.
What book (books) are you currently reading?
As much as I love to read, between writing, work and getting my small business off the ground I haven't read for pleasure in a while.
How many hours of the day do you write?
I get in where I can. 😆 Usually I only have an hour or so, but I get lucky sometimes and can squeeze in 2 or more.
How do you celebrate when you complete a book?
For me, the book is not complete until it's released. When a book is finally done, I put it to the side for a while and concentrate on something totally different. I go back to it in a week, maybe two weeks later so I can see it with fresh eyes. I send it to my editor so we can do the back and forth thing. When she passes it on to the next steps to be published, that's when I open the wine and toast my baby being born.
What is the most difficult part of your writing process?
The synopsis. Trying to fit my book of 52k words into a paragraph is a nightmare.
How much “world building” takes place before you start writing?
When I start the booking I already know what my characters and can't do with their powers. Everything is planned out and in place as if it were a real world because it's real to me.
Who is your favorite author and why?
Beatrice Small. Her Skye O'Malley books introduced me to sexy, powerful female led stories
If you could invite one person to dinner, who would it be and what would you cook?
I would love to have dinner with Piers Anthony. We would have a smorgasbord of seafood delights so we wouldn't get over stuffed as we talked about world building in books.
What would you like to say to your readers?
I love you all and thank you for reading my books.
