Flowers of Eve by Lakendrick Northern is one of those books that really pulled me in and stayed on my mind even after I finished it. It’s not just about what happens—it’s about how everything feels while it’s happening.
Eve felt very real to me. She’s not perfect, and I actually liked that about her. There were moments where I didn’t agree with her choices, but I still understood them. She’s trying to figure herself out while dealing with love, pain, and growth, and that journey felt honest. I found myself rooting for her, even when she frustrated me a little.
Kendrick definitely stood out too. He’s not just there—he actually adds a lot to the story. He’s complicated, and I liked that he wasn’t written as all good or all bad. There were times I liked him, and other times I questioned him, but that’s what made him feel real. You can tell he’s dealing with his own struggles, and his connection with Eve brings a lot of emotion and tension into the story.
What really kept me reading was their relationship. It wasn’t perfect or predictable—it felt messy at times, but in a real way. You can feel the highs and lows, the confusion, and the connection between them. It didn’t feel forced or unrealistic, which I appreciated.
The writing style was easy to follow and didn’t feel overdone. It just flowed naturally, and the emotions came through clearly. Some parts were heavy, but not in a bad way—it just made me think more about what the characters were going through.
Overall, I enjoyed Flowers of Eve. If you like stories that focus on real emotions, complicated relationships, and characters who feel like actual people, this is definitely worth reading.
