Sometimes a quickie is all you need…


10 Erotic: Book 1 by Dallas Black is for the reader on the go that needs a little taste of a good story. Just enough of a tease to get to the next phase. All of the stories contained in this book were that of raw passion, in numerous places, from the laundry room to the spa. All the stories have a great storyline that stays on point for whatever the theme is. I cannot say much more or I will be giving away too much.

The fact each story has a poem that goes along with it is just another plus for this author.

I personally love this book. It was just an enough to tease keep and me satisfied. The vivid use of description gives you a since of being there like a fly on the wall watching the action. My personal favorite of this author would have to be called Preserves and P**sy.

I give this book 5 star. I recommend this book to anyone that does not have the time to sit and read a conventional novel and just want a little something to hit the spot.

Jada Whitman is the best friend of Ami, cousin of Alexander. When these two lay eyes on each other it is love at first sight but neither of them want to admit it. After avoiding the burning passion and desire that they have for each other, Alex asks Jada out for a date. Reluctantly she says yes.


Of course good love has it trials and that is true when it comes to Jada and Alex. Jada is the one that has the stronghold against relationships. Because of the fact that she lost her family so many years ago to a car accident, she felt that she was never ...really able to fall in love with someone. A love interest from Alex’s past sees the achievements of Alex and decides that she wants him back and will got through any means to get him. Now on the other side of the fence there is someone that is in love with Jada and feels it is time to let it be known. When these two forces work together the drama is taken to another level. Will they succeed in the quest? Will true love conquer drama?

Amore did as great job with this being her first novel. Many secondary characters are used to bring little details to light. The verbal interaction with the characters is a relief from the descriptive novels that are out today. I would like to see how the next installment of this book would be. It has sort of a thrown together ending but it does leave the novel open for a new novel.

Some may say that Alisa is spoiled and misunderstood. Some may say she is ghetto hood rat; but no one can say she isn’t strong and that she makes hustling her business. Alisa wants the finer things out of life and will use any hustler to obtain it; not taking feelings into consideration or thinking about any danger that may be involved. In order to get with this lady you have to have only one qualification:  a nice bankroll.


Omar is a hustler. Unlike the average hustler, he is for the money but he wants to use hustling as a short term means to a long term goal of a simple future. He is also a Muslim with a very strong belief. Omar has always had a special liking for Alisa but has never crossed that boundary because of the relationship to her brother until today.


Alisa and Omar after meeting have a desire for each other. Almost polar opposites, Alisa wants things quick and easy, living life in the fast lane. On the other hand Omar wants to build a lasting, yet comfortable life without being in the game forever. With two strong people each deeply entrenched in having their own way which, if any, desire will win?


This novel is not like other typical African American fiction street novels. In many cases it cannot be considered a street novel at all. The author, Andrea Clinton, in no way glamorizes the street game, but uses it as a background element to bring forth the true meaning of this book; change and love. With so many surprises surrounding these two characters many slow moments are overlooked.

This book could not have come at a better time in my life. The Art of Forgiveness is a book that the title speaks for itself. Jones used this book to show readers the way to forgiveness. As the book says and all of us know, forgiveness is where the healing process starts. And begins with us first. We must also take back the power that was taken by others. For me, the biggest takeaway was that it was ok for me to be angry, but to not sin. Most of all I did not worry about getting that get back because vengeance is mine saith the Lord. He will deal with my enemies the way he sees fit. Not the way that I see fit. 


This book is one that you will keep to read another day. I swear that you will get different nugget of knowledge when you go back and read it again. It is a book that will always be relevant. Another aspect of this book that I like is the fact that the author uses the word of God to back up what she is speaking about in that chapter. The author takes great length to speak about how she reintroduced herself (or found herself again) after her divorce. If I could, I would give this book more than 4 stars.
