What inspired you to write this book, and what message do you hope readers take away from it?
Claiming My Bestfriend was inspired by the idea that sometimes the person you've been searching for has been right in front of you all along. I wanted to explore the beauty and complexity of a friendship that slowly blossoms into something much deeper. Through Solae and Crown's journey, readers experience love, vulnerability, timing, and the courage it takes to risk everything for the person who truly knows you. I hope readers walk away believing that the strongest relationships are built on trust, friendship, and choosing someone who consistently chooses you back.
Can you tell us about your main character (or favorite character) and what makes them special to you?
Solae and Crown both hold a special place in my heart because they represent two people who have always shared an undeniable connection but have to navigate fear, misunderstandings, and life's obstacles before they can fully embrace what has always been between them.
Solae is compassionate, independent, and fiercely loyal, but she's also learning that it's okay to be vulnerable. Crown is protective, patient, and quietly intentional. He's the kind of man who shows his love through his actions long before he says the words. Together, they complement each other in a way that feels genuine, making their relationship one readers can root for from beginning to end.
What was the most rewarding and the most challenging part of writing this book?
The most rewarding part was watching Solae and Crown's relationship develop naturally. Their chemistry, history, and emotional growth made every chapter feel meaningful.
The most challenging part was creating enough emotional tension to keep readers invested while preserving the authenticity of their friendship. Friends-to-lovers stories depend on emotional depth, so every conversation, misunderstanding, and heartfelt moment had to feel earned.
If readers could remember just one thing after finishing your book, what would you want it to be?
I want readers to remember that some of the greatest love stories begin with friendship. Real love is built on trust, consistency, respect, and choosing each other every single day. Sometimes the love you've been searching for has been beside you all along.
What's next for you? Are you currently working on another book or exciting project that readers can look forward to?
Absolutely! I'm currently working on the second short read in the Claiming My Bestfriend series, and I'm excited for readers to continue Solae and Crown's journey. I'm also preparing for the release of Concrete Secrets of a Bloodline Bossb 3, which will be available shortly. Readers can expect more unforgettable characters, emotional storytelling, and plot twists that will keep them turning the pages. There is so much more to come, and I can't wait to share these stories with everyone.
