Hello, my name is Tracy Smalls-Deleston, a native of Charleston, SC. Enjoying everyday life with my loved ones, family and friends are my favorite pastime. It stimulates my mind and inspires me to be a blessing to others, sharing my trials and tribulations and how my faith in God got me through. My life testimonies, the traumas as well as the victories are destined to encourage females of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds.
What, in your opinion, are the most important elements of good writing?
The most important element in writing in my opinion is making sure I captivate the hearts of the reader. It’s also important to make sure your writing is interesting, and one can visualize and relate to the content.
What time of the day do you usually write? Describe a typical writing day.
Typically, I don’t have a particular time of the day to write. It’s spontaneous for me. Whenever something comes to mind, I jot it down in my journal and compile it later. Most of my writings are based on my life experiences and I’m compassionate to share with others.
What was the first book to make you cry?
My first book made me cry, “Overcoming Destructive Relationships”. It was a reminder of everything I endured, it made me stronger, and I am now able to help others.
What inspired the idea for your book?
My inspiration for writing “Breaking the Chains of a Narcissist” was my previous marriage. My desire was to share my experience with others, so that they could know the signs of a narcissistic person. People need to know what to look for and not fall victim to a Narcissist.
What would you like to say to your readers?
To my readers, I say, “everyone is purposely made”! Life challenges happen, but with a healthy mind you will be in control of your healthy life. Pursue your goals and dreams even when life strips you of your heart’s desires for just a while you must keep on pushing.
