Get To Know Author Angela Thomas Smith

What inspired you to write this book, and what message do you hope readers take away from it?

I was inspired to write M.I.N.D. Your Legacy because I believe too many people are living day to day without realizing that every thought, decision, habit, and story they embrace is shaping the legacy they will leave behind. Legacy is not just what people remember after we are gone; it is what we build daily through our mindset, our discipline, our healing, our relationships, and our service to others.

The message I hope readers take away is that they have the power and responsibility to become intentional about their lives. Your past does not have to define you, your old narratives do not have to limit you, and your daily choices can become the foundation for something meaningful, lasting, and impactful. This workbook is an invitation to pause, reflect, reset, and begin building a life that speaks even when you are not in the room.

Can you tell us about your main character (or favorite character) and what makes them special to you?

Because M.I.N.D. Your Legacy is a transformational workbook, the main character is truly the reader. Each person who opens the book becomes the focus of the journey. Their thoughts, their story, their habits, their healing, and their purpose take center stage.

That is what makes this book so special to me. It is not just something to read; it is something to experience. The reader is invited to look within, confront what has shaped them, rewrite what has limited them, and take daily action toward the life they are called to build. Watching someone discover that they are not stuck, that they can shift their mindset and create a legacy with intention, is powerful.

What was the most rewarding—and the most challenging—part of writing this book?

The most rewarding part of writing this book was creating a tool that can help people gain clarity, heal from old narratives, and take practical steps toward purpose. I wanted this workbook to be more than motivational words. I wanted it to be interactive, reflective, and useful for real transformation.

The most challenging part was making sure the content was both deep and practical. Legacy work can be emotional because it asks people to examine their thoughts, choices, wounds, values, and patterns. I wanted to honor that process while still giving readers clear exercises, prompts, and action steps they could apply daily. My goal was to create something that meets people where they are but also challenges them to grow.

If readers could remember just one thing after finishing your book, what would you want it to be?

If readers remember one thing, I want it to be this: Your legacy is being built every day.

It is built in the way you think, the way you speak to yourself, the choices you make, the habits you practice, the stories you believe, and the way you show up for others. You do not have to wait for the perfect time to become intentional. You can start now—with one thought, one choice, one story, and one day at a time.

What's next for you? Are you currently working on another book or exciting project that readers can look forward to?

I am continuing to build around the message of intentional living, servant leadership, prayer, and legacy. I am excited about creating more resources, workshops, and guided experiences connected to the M.I.N.D. Your Legacy framework so individuals, women’s groups, leaders, and faith-based communities can use it for growth and transformation.

I am also continuing my work in ministry, prayer, and leadership development, encouraging others to stand firmly in faith, trust God through every season, and live with purpose. Readers can look forward to more writing, more teaching, and more opportunities to connect around healing, mindset, legacy, and impact.

Book Spotlight:

M.I.N.D. Your Legacy

Mastering Intentional Narratives Daily to Build a Life That Outlives You

M.I.N.D. Your Legacy is a transformational workbook designed to help individuals take ownership of their thoughts, choices, personal story, daily habits, and long-term impact. Built around the powerful M.I.N.D. framework—Mastering, Intentional, Narratives, and Daily—this guide invites readers to reflect deeply, live purposefully, and build a legacy through consistent, aligned action.

This workbook teaches that legacy is not something created only at the end of life; it is shaped every day through mindset, discipline, relationships, healing, decisions, and service. Through guided prompts, self-assessments, reflection exercises, habit resets, narrative reframes, values clarification, and a 30-day legacy challenge, readers are equipped to become more aware of what they are building and why it matters.

The journey begins with personal ownership and reflection, helping readers define what legacy means to them and identify the impact they want their life to have. It then introduces the M.I.N.D. framework as a practical tool for transformation, emphasizing that thoughts become beliefs, beliefs shape choices, and choices create legacy.

The Mastering section focuses on the inner world—thoughts, habits, emotions, and mindset. Readers are guided through self-checks, thought audits, habit evaluations, and mindset reframes to identify limiting patterns and replace them with empowering beliefs and intentional habits.

The Intentional section helps readers clarify their purpose, values, and decision-making process. Through values alignment, purposeful reflection, and the “intentional yes and no” exercise, readers learn to protect their time, energy, and attention while making choices that reflect who they are becoming.

The Narratives section explores the stories people tell themselves about their past, identity, abilities, and future. Readers are encouraged to examine inherited beliefs, heal old narratives, rewrite limiting stories, and define the message their life is meant to communicate. This section empowers readers to see their story not as a limitation, but as a source of wisdom, strength, and impact.

The Daily section brings the work into practical action. Readers create daily rhythms, identify small legacy-building actions, and complete a 30-day challenge that reinforces mindset mastery, intentional living, narrative healing, and purpose-driven habits. The workbook concludes with a legacy letter and personal commitment declaration, inviting readers to affirm the life they are choosing to build one thought, one choice, one story, and one day at a time.

M.I.N.D. Your Legacy is ideal for personal growth, coaching programs, women’s groups, leadership development, faith-based reflection, mentorship, journaling, workshops, and anyone ready to live with greater clarity, intention, and impact.
